Hi @acloweOg9UvktI - while I can understand you can't be bothered with the grief - it would actually be worth emailing them. If people don't complain, it gives companies a green light to treat people this way. The response to @Robertsprr 's emails was appalling.

Take some pix and get onto them  ;)
Don’t worry I tried, I’ve sent a number of emails with pictures and their response is always the same. They say all their materials go through quality checks and the companies they use are british standard rated. There is nothing more I can do other than just not buy the bags any more as I have already told them. As you can understand they are not bothered with what I have to say and to prove it’s their bags that are at fault would cost me a fortune, and for what?
In the end they just stop replying to any emails...

That's where calling them out on social media helps. Shouldn't have to be done, but it seems to be the only way nowadays when there's shoddy customer care.
Companies are finding it a bit too easy to get away with poor products, which is really unfair on customers, who are trusting a 'name' and assuming, quite rightly, that the product will do it's job.

Ok thanks for your help. I will just have to wait now till next year to get my normal bumper crop of Tomatoes, but certainly won’t be using Tomorite giant growbags.
I just googled Failed Tomorite giant grow bags and came upon your story. We are having exactly the same issues. I grow Chillies, Aubergines and cucumbers in our green house and always been successful, until this year. Everything is weak and very little fruit. The Chillies I always grow regularly dominate the greenhouse, and carry up to 100+ fruit per plant. Doubt there is more than a dozen per plant and the plants are weak. Same as the Aubergines and cucumber. I won't waste my time contacting the manufacturer after reading your story, but at least I now believe that the issue is the bags.  Thank you for your post.
To get them to listen maybe send a complaint email. They will probably say they have never had any complaints or problems to you. It wont do you any good but probably make you feel better getting it off your chest. Once I mentioned this forum they stopped replying to me.

    Good Morning,
I took your advice and contacted Levingtons, they requested pictures which I gladly supplied showing the normal crop status in mid July compared to this year, also pointed out that some of the same seedlings were planted out in the garden and were doing fine.
Their final response was to loosen the bags and fill with water as their response to the original poster. Assuring me that they have faultless quality control protocols.
I pointed out that, having used their bags and feeds for probably 30 years, I felt I have the hang of how it works and felt that their quality control, despite their assurances, had slipped when they filled my bags.
We have now cleared the green house as this season is a write off.
I’ll probably use the bags again next year as this is the first ever failure, but will probably back up with someone else’s product too.
    Just unlucky I guess.

I think social media is the only way to go now. I don't use any of it [other than this forum and another completely different one] but all these companies have a presence on Facebook etc. That seems to be the only way to get them to take notice.
I had to resort to that when I had a problem with a well known retailer of electrical goods, and was getting no response.  I just had to  create an account and send a message, and lo and behold, they contacted me. They were falling over themselves then to avoid the negative publicity.

  • Their answer would be ..You win some..You lose some..All yesterdays chip paper.
They are NEVER going to admit to anything even though they know what the matter is..This is not the first time its happened and it probably happens every year to certain batches in some form or another. Now Peat is being phased out im sure you will see this more and more ..If you can, the answer is make your own compost with some decent well rotted Manure then if something goes wrong you only have yourself to blame..
