Holes on leaves of potted hostas
My potted hostas have developed these holes on the leaves. I have done a bit of googling (including on these forums) and it appears that these were caused by slugs.
However I can find no sign of any slugs on or under the pot, or indded any of its neighbours.
It's otherwise a beautiful plant.
Could these holes be caused by something else? Any advice on solving this?

I am going on patrol this fair evening, armed only with a pair of snips and a glass of wine. what do you do with the snips? Cut off the leaf? Do you just pull the slugs off and put them in the garden bin on your patrol.
Oooh...I am too squeamish for that! I'll start by putting them in the garden bin. It's a long way for them to get back, even if they do prise open the lid.
Those copper strips any good? The tape on Amazon is only a tenner - but mixed reviews.
