I am enjoying a raised bed full of (low growing) flowering clover, vetch and birdsfoot trefoil (all in clover/pea family). I've wanted for years to have a native wildflower bed just for pollinators (especially moths and butterflies) and its working well. I think vetch and birdsfoot would work well in a hanging basket.
I grew quite a few Primula florindae (giant cowslip) from seed. They have a lovely scent, and bright yellow flowers... except this one, which must be a hybrid. I like it.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Now borage and camomile I knew about, but allium and salvia are new ones on me. @SalixGold do you know whether it's all varieties, or just specific ones? Since we grow both of these (as well as borage) I can see my wife having a field day, and me ending up eating more flowers! Thank you.
All salvia flowers should be fine. I have just used the blooms from the bushy types (Nachtvlinder, Blue Note, Royal Bumble etc). There are about 900 species of Salvia worldwide, but I haven't found any warnings. The flowers are more for ornamental than bringing much in the way of taste.
All alliums should be fine. But again, it's a huge genus - so hard to speak for every last one. The blooms do have a garlicky taste. With larger multiflower heads you would probably want to pick off the little invidual blooms.

Thankfully, our alliums have finished, but my wife will probably cut some salvia to put in a salad. Eeek!!
