So relieved to hear you're ok this morning @Hostafan1, I was quite worried last night about your OH staying the night. Don't envy you those difficult decisions but you must think about what is safe for you.

We've had no rain overnight and it's all very overcast and gloomy.

So pleased for Tom Daley 🥇

Hope you can find a solution that works for all @Hostafan1.

Lots of rain here yesterday, but dry and bright today.  Time to have a weeding bonanza in the veg patch.

🎅🏻🎄🎁 A Christmas Pudding arrived in the post yesterday (Amazon is a wonderful thing).  We are getting ready for “Christmas in the Summer”.  Having had our family Christmas trashed by Covid restrictions we promised to do a re-run whenever it was possible.  So the family are descending in a fortnight, Secret Santa allocations have been made, gazebo has been hired, Turkey has been sourced, crackers are ready to go, decorations will come down from the loft and Christmas songs will be played.   Only real compromises are an artificial tree and frozen sprouts 🤣🤣

My gut feeling is to have him here , clear his stuff out of the care home and see how long we can be together.

If that is what you feel and you think you can both be safe, then that would undoubtedly be the "nicest" solution.

Can you get carers to come in from time to time, to help Garry and to free up a little me time for you.
You must consider your own health too. Sorry if this sounds brutal, but there is no point you both dying.

I understand how you must be feeling  ((hugs)) ... my  immediate thoughts are ...

How are you going to cope with his tendency to go walkies in the middle of the night? You need to be able to get some  proper sleep, not lay awake with one ear open ... and how will the police feel if they have to get the helicopter out again?

As his confusion seems to worsen from time to time, what happens if he doesn't know who you are and feels threatened again?

Can you manage work and caring for him ... or is it possible for you to survive without working, for the duration ...... remembering that no prognosis is set in stone?

I've been signed off work for another 4 weeks.
PIP has eventually been agreed and is being paid.
He's actually VERY subdued now, although pain seems to creeping in now.

Oh bless him (and you).  Is he on any medication?  Have the medics talked about what pain relief will be necessary and how to be administered and how this is likely to affect him.  Does @punkdoc have any thoughts about what you should be asking with regard to that?

Have they linked you with a hospice or is there the possibility of linking with a Hospice at Home service?

As usual @Dovefromabove makes very pertinent points.

I am not sure whether we have discussed this before, but pain relief is going to be come vital.
It can often be provided by district nurses / Macmillan nurses at home.
IMO, by far the best way of administering this is: firstly by patches, followed by regular tablets throughout the day, moving to IV by pump if necessary.
