What’s actually wrong with my lawn?

, scarifying, reseeding and whatnot and I just can’t hack what’s going on.
Everything was sort of ok until a murderously long hot summer a few years ago.
I’ll post a pic of the whole lawn, the floor plan and pictures matching the letters.
so bare with me, it should take 3 or so posts

If you have hot sunny weather regularly in summer, keep the grass a bit longer.
If it's in a shady site, that will always be difficult. Grass needs light and decent drainage.
That's the two most common reasons for grass not thriving.

There's lot of messy long grass in the 2nd photo. If you cut grass little and often - ie at least once a week [depending on climactic conditions/weather ] but only taking a small bit off each time - that encourages the growth to spread sideways [tillering] and means you get a healthier covering.
An occasional feed of liquid seaweed, or any similar product, will help too. What grass needs more than anything through summer, is moisture though. In dry areas, keeping it at a longer length helps enormously.
