Thought it was a very good show

J & J did really well but I really liked  Rose & G and really pleased that they won

  • Such a shame AJ couldn't dance tonight.
But so very pleased that Rose won. Loved seeing their couples choice again, made me cry too. Loved their show dance too, so beautiful.
J&J danced well too, can see John dancing on the stage in the future.
    Great show tonight

Brilliant show and wonderful result. I really loved John’s dances but Rose stole my heart.

Rose will be so relieved now that Giovanni won't be kissing her every 5 minutes  ;)

Pretty much wept through the whole thing.  Gorgeous dances from all of them.  Pleased Rose won though I wouldn't have minded if John did.  Or AJ had she been fit enough to dance.  For me last week was the culmination with 4 dancers, lots of dancing and a bit less of the contestants having to answer the same old 'what does it mean for you' and 'what would you like to say to your partner.'   Probably won't watch the Christmas Special - I am done now - until next year!

I thought it was a good final despite AJ's absence.  Both pairs very evenly matched but, of the show dances, I preferred John and Johannes'.    Rose's was a bit too predictable and seemed like more lifts than actual dancing while John and Jojo's was more exciting and demanding.

Very pleased with all 3 finalists despite that injury spoiling the fun.   Congrats to all 3 and to the whole show for its diversity, ingenuity and sheer enjoyment.

I found the whole thing very emotional, much more so than l expected to. Strictly finals always have that "end of term" feeling,  but this year's seemed particularly intense.

I think a lot of it was down to the partnerships, and having to "bubble" must have played a part, but there did seem to be genuine enjoyment and friendship with the possible exception of Gorka and Catherine. I just didn't feel that they really connected.

The sheer joy on Rose's face when she dances, AJ's disappointment, and John overcoming his demons made for a very emotional watch for me. The box of tissues took a bit of a hammering !
I think that last year we admired Strictly for getting on air at all and thought that this year's show would be pretty much back to normal. Who could have known that we would have had another 12 months of this and no end in sight?
Thank goodness for Strictly and its sparkle, music and fun on a Saturday night  :)
    Merry Christmas everyone!
  • Strange show last night not the usual fast paced showpiece but a more reflective one which somehow struck a chord considering the last couple of years that we have all had. Both couples preformed brilliantly and I couldn't separate them although I thought that Rose's show dance was better than Johns but neither was outstanding compared to previous years. Couldn't see the point in sharing votes so we gave all six to Rose as I have to admit she was my favourite dancer through the whole series so elegant and showing a real joy of dancing I think that she will miss being with her new friend Giovani and learning new dances each week.

Delighted that Rose won, but John's 'pirate' dance was phenomenal.  I didn't see it first time round.
I'd mentioned previously that there was something about Johannes that I really didn't like but couldn't put my finger on.  I've finally realised what it is.  Some years ago there was a documentary about a London dance studio and its male choreographer.  That guy was extremely unlikeable from the outset and compounded that in one episode when he was being interviewed outside the building.  He looked away from the interviewer, toward a young male dancer and said something along the lines of "Look at that gorgeous boy".  He then slithered (no other word conveys the movement) along the wall with his tongue flicking out like a snake.  His movement there was so reminiscent of the fluidity in Johannes movement, and I now realise that's what put me off Johannes.  Not Johannes' fault but an image like that is hard to dispel.

That could have been the documentary series about the Pineapple Dance Studios @KT53

That's the one that introduced Louie Spence. Now he could certainly slither.
