Rose Feed recommendation, please

LesleyHLesleyH Posts: 126
Morning. I know this has been asked on here before but can’t find any very recent posts. Can rose growers recommend your favourite rose feed please? Also, I’m a vegan so won’t use anything with blood, bones, chicken manure etc in it. TIA Lesley

I'm pretty sure Growmore doesn't contain anything organic - I think it's all chemicals.
It's not specifically a rose fertilizer, but a general purpose fertilizer

Thank you Pete.8, I was thinking of Growmore but being new to rose growing wasn’t sure they benefited from a rose specific feed. Appreciated 🙂

The time to feed roses is in early spring (around early March for me) and again mid-late June.
If you feed later (july/August) you risk lots of soft new growth just as winter arrives which will likely be damaged by frosts

I use Toprose. I don't know if it's better than anything else. It's just the one I use.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Toprose always seems the best seller in my local garden centre.  As well as the two timed feedings mentioned above I occasionally give my roses a feed of seaweed extract, applied directly at the roots rather than as a foliar feed.  Just be careful not to overfeed - the David Austin website gives good advice, under the heading "Rose Care":

Thank you so much for going to the trouble of a link as well! Will definitely read that. 🙂

Thank you very much. Do you grow your own or buy a preparation?
