I planted a paeony in a prominent position close to the front door. Had 2 lovely flowers which only lasted max of 3 days so rather underwhelmed with that one.

I have a dwarf Stella cherry tree. I assume the same thing? Nothing the first year. About 3 cherries, the second. Third year 5 (and the birds got three) then it started to take off. Year 4, I got a reasonable-sized bowl of really very delicious cherries. Mind you this year is dire. I might have a small bowl, but the cherries are splitting yet not as flavoursome as last year. (Too much watering?) I gather there is a cherry problem this year though.
Mine is about 6.5 ft high now, but it's in a large pot.
This said I would not buy any more either... to have any cherries, I have to put sleeves on the branches. It's not every really going to produce enough to share with the birds?

I should also say I have several such dwarf cherries. Two have produced next to no fruit this year. Dwarf plum (touch wood) is doing ok. Last year I had three plums. At the moment there are at least two dozen possible future plums on it.
I wish I had room for proper sized fruit trees...

I said I wouldn't bother with tithonia again, but I have. They are a bit needy, I find. I think this year's might have blight too.

    • Argyranthemum frutescens 'Grandaisy Ivory Halo' - deeply disappointing. They looked good for about two weeks. "A big-eyed daisy." Not. "Huge flowers". Not. "Almost endless continuity from spring to winter". Not
    • Salvia Marcus - looked good for about two weeks
    • Diascia integerrima - weedy and lank. Bilious

Cephalaphora aromatica, 'Pineapples'.  I only grew it because a packet of seeds came with a magazine last year so I thought I'd have a go. They're certainly strongly pineapple scented, but they just look like weeds. I wouldn't bother growing them again, I'll stick with my pineapple sage.
