Good morning Ruby, Chive and everybody. Phew and phew again Busy. I had my fan on all night last night and its still warm this morning but - as yesterday - dull and overcast. Not to worry, plenty of things to do in the garden. I had a broken night's sleep because of the warmth and I just feel that I moan on forever so sorry about that Rezzers.

Debs, its unlikely that your apricot foxgloves will come true from seed because that will have been cross pollinated with all the other colours by the bees. You would have to sow an awful lot of seeds to get another apricot colour. Its probably easier to buy plugs in the spring and then you would have to wait another 2 years for flowers or just bite the bullet and buy a large plant of the colour you want.
Aaah Chive, Nel will be so pleased to see you - and you to see her of course

    Morning all.

The windows are all open and it's quite comfortable now, must remember to shut them and the shutters before it heats up.
I need to get a move on, weeding to do before it gets hot.

    Good Morning LB & Busy-Lizzie,
LB What a lovely picture of foxgloves to start the day. The heat at night is hard to bear, we are using a fan but I don’t like the droning noise it makes. Yes I will get a warm welcome from Nel, but probably a cold shoulder later 😾 We all need to grumble 🤗
I expect to get told off on the way home Rubee 😔
Busy That sounds a good idea, hope you get the weeding done before it’s too warm to continue.
  • Chive Nel and you will be so glad to be home and settling into her favourite spot.  There is a fan on QVC called the meacofan and it’s very quiet and the presenters have bought it and have recommended.  Rubee you were the early bird this morning.   LB you’ll be glad of your fan for warm nights.  It’s quite cool where I am and had a cape on last night.  Busy enjoy your gardening.

Good morning all. Blue skies and sunshine here today and I am off to DA roses in an hour. It’s going to be a perfect day for it I am so excited. I MUST resist buying a rose.
LB I suspected as much as I have had that apricot before but I will collect the seeds and hope.
Slept badly with the heat as so many others did. @Ladybird4 you are one of the most positive cheerful people I know definitely NOT a moaner. This heat is no good for us is it? I spent most of yesterday in the living room with a book.
My rhubarb cordial is made and tastes good, I just need to decant some into a small bottle for a work friend and the rest is for me to enjoy.
Hope you all have a good day, fiancé and brother in law are on a driving experience day, they are both chefs so nice to have a catch up.
Stay cool everyone and well hydrated!

    Good Morning Bluebells & Debs,
Bluebells The fan is a good recommendation will take a look at that, hope you have a good day,
Debs completely agree LB is not a moaner, have a lovely time at DA today and if you should be tempted then I’m sure you’ll find a spot somewhere in the garden. Hope fiancé & BIL have a good day out.

Morning everyone, a beautiful sunny morning, very soz @Ladybird4 supposed to be the hottest day so far. But thunderstorms on Wednesday 😥
    Beautiful photo this morning LB.
Aww, @Chivetalking I bet Nel will love seeing you. You might get a nose in the air later, but at first sight she'll be all over you 🐾🐾
It was very hot last night, but I couldn't have a fan going the noise would annoy me and keep me awake.
Have a good day everyone SYL
Oops  typed this ages ago and forgot to press post 🤦🏻‍♀️

Have a lovely day at DA @debs64  pop a few in your basket for me please😉
    I don't think you're a meaner either @Ladybird4
Going to put some wet cloth things out, they should dry in no time, it's very hot already 🥵🥵
    30° in the conservatory!
  • Rain here Lily, just cut back my ginormous mint with shears as it had really shot up and was taking over.  I think Hazel warned me.  Debs wishing your fiancé and bil a good day out.

    Good Morning Hazel & SGL,
Sorry Hazel I missed your post this morning, I hope the clothes shopping proves more successful this time for you have a good day,
SGL Wet cloth things are drying in record time, I’ve just done another lot to make the most of it. A shady seat in the garden may be nice again if you get the chance,
Bluebells I made the mistake of planting mint without containing it, I do love the smell of fresh mint sauce,
Must get ready for work, see you later.
