@jamesholt Beavers have only recently been re-released in the UK in selected areas to improve land and water management for re-wilding and to reduce flooding downstream so I don't expect anyone on this forum will have personal experience of beaver activity on their land.
You need to consult local experts but I don't think putting wire round trees as a deterrent is a clever idea. Bad for the trees if they grow on and get strangled or cut by it and certainly bad for the beavers.
