Why are plum tomatoes called "plum shaped" when a lot of plum tree varieties have round fruit? Plum tomatoes (like Roma) are oval shaped, more like damsons, but I suppose damson tomatoes doesn't have the quite the same appeal. In any case it's not Roma, but I hope it tastes good anyway.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

I suppose "Oval" tomatoes don't have quite the same ring to them as "Plum" tomatoes.  At least plums are fruit whereas ovals are.........just shapes ? :D

Well they aren't plum tomatoes. They are just beginning to ripen at a small size, maybe 3-4 cm. they are a golden red. I apparently have a large variety of Cherry tomatoes. A lot of seeds. Juicy and not fully rip yet, but sweeter than I expected considering they have aren't Fully ripe. Too bad My stomach can't handle all the seeds. My Wife will probably love them though. We're having heavy rains here so I had to pick these before they split. Now I just have to put down my diatomaceous Earth... Found a few snails on the garden mulch.

And now, A huge Soft Shell Terrapin from the canal behind my Home, found the garden. She took a chunk out of every ripe tomato. LOL! I erected an 18" Fence. Hope it keeps her out.
