Wrong Seeds!

I bought some seeds on Amazon a few months ago. We paid for Daytona Plum Tomatoes. These are the ones we received fruiting on the vines. I'm pretty sure these are not roma, plum, or their' hybrids. I chose the Daytonas specifically for pastes and sauce and because they have less seeds.

The 3rd part seller disappeared without a trace. 29% sellers rating now.

I've never seen Plum or Roma tomatoes this round. I'm thinking this was an expensive rip-off now, after all the $ and hrs spent preparing the new garden for planting?

I wonder what kind of tomatoes I have now!

They’re definitely not Roma, I grow those every year.   Could be anything really.

Maybe they'll turn out to be those 'exotic' electric blue or fluorescent purple ones & you'll be the envy of all your gardening friends!!! Bonne chance!!

Well, On the plus side, there are at least 50 fruit on the biggest plant which is almost 2 meters tall. Much bigger plant than the Daytonas advertised. I'm going to have to thin the garden a lot.

Wouldn't that be great? My Better Half would enjoy them. LOL!

There's a lot of suckers between the branches which to me mean they are an indeterminate Tomato. Daytonas are a determinate plant.   Sighhhh! Maybe they're "Early Girls" since they grew so fast. At least My Jalapeno Ms appear to be The Plants I ordered seeds for. LOL

Buying seeds online seems to be a bit of a minefield these days.  Even reputable seed companies are becoming a bit hit and miss.
    As @Lyn says - Roma they aren't !
At least if one plant already has 50 fruit forming, you won't be short of toms - just hope they are tasty :D

I have an Early Girl tomato plant in the corner of the garden that is fruiting 3 inch toms already. I think I'll just take some 10" cuttings and root them. Much faster than seeds, and a guarantee I have the correct tomato variety. They are a fairly dense 5" tomato with a minimum of seeds. Very sweet if cared for properly, and good for most uses. I grew these before and one plant gave me over 50 kilo of fruit in just a few months. Here in Florida, they are a considered a mild perennial lasting at least a year or 2.

Definitely not ... they're the wrong shape for Roma tomatoes, which are plum-shaped.
