Thanks @LesleyH! Narrow Water sounds lovely and has such an evocative name (I see that's the castle where it was found), but I'm after a rose that is white/cream/yellow. I do have quite a few options now, the trouble will be to pick just one.
I chose Guirlande d'Amour (thanks to @Marlorena for the tip) Planted bare roots (Lens sent excellent specimens) and they have been blooming since May. They have also sent up tall canes for next year. I adore the foliage: small shapely leaves and healthy. Not as much scent as advertised, but hopefully in time.
