That's the trouble, Phillipa, you complain and people retaliate. We once had a neighbour with 21 cats, yes, that's correct! She was lovely, they were pedigrees, the house was immaculate.now, the other side was a young couple, who worked in London, left their back door open so their bulldog could go outside. They never cleared up,we had to give up going out there, because of the stench. Her mum came over to dog sit while they went on holiday, told me she was embarrassed because she was an RSPCA inspector,THEN added they were too busy to pick up. Told get I worked full time and had just had my second child who was a baby!

Our dog barks at the neighbours. Mostly he barks at the neighbours' cats when they sit on our shed roof. We tell him off, he usually stops. If he doesn't stop we bring him inside. I've no idea if he barks when we're out - we almost never go out with out taking him with us.
@Blue Onion he's a collie x greyhound lurcher. Takes a bit more after his collie parent than the greyhound.

Barking dogs, screaming kids, moved to the middle of nowhere years ago with no near neighbours so we can make as much noise as we want  :)
