I 'bit the bullet' today & transplanted 40-odd Runner Bean plants* from their relatively cloistered gh troughs into their dedicated Bean Box - prepped with plenty of humus-rich HGC (home-grown compost). The framework went in after the beans, so the canes are (mostly) positioned to best benefit individual plants! [- just finished by twilight, so the photos will follow tomorrow!).  *[they've just begun to climb, so unlike last year when I delayed 'cos the weather was so contrary & had a real MARE'S NEST of intertwined tendrils to unravel before I could plant...!!].

Planted  out onions and  tomatoes, Italian ones in the GH, and planted the French Beans, will put runners out next week.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Runner bean plants now installed in their 'dedicated' Bean Box - ultra high raised bed (to counteract 6' high stone wall due south of plot!). No ill effects as yet, despite much windier conditions today....!! We garden in Hope!

I think I need to get the beans out. The deer took a liking to the french beans last year so I have to position them so she can't get at them.  Oh mowed the lawns today. All the compost bins are full. At least we are not losing the neighbours cats any more.
