    I also use PlantNet. It's not perfect but gets pretty close and usually close enough I can work out what the plant actually is.

    @Fire yes that's the one. It is international yes and is probably aimed more at gathering the range of wild plants. But once I used it for work purposes I got to like it. The machine learning thing behind the apps i guess is pretty standard but the apps works nicely.

    I'm very happy with PictureThis.  I do pay for it (I think about £20 per year) and it seems to get most things right (not everything of course, but it does provides stock pictures of whatever response it gives - which helps give some confidence). If you're still not sure it's easy to double check with a google image search of the response.

    I agree having an app can be a lot more convenient than posting on a forum - sometimes at a nursery, public gardens etc you just want an instant answer.

    I use Google lens as it's integrated into the camera app on my phone. Sometimes it's wrong but it is usually OK. Maybe not for specific varieties though.
