Plant ID, Woodruff?

Hello everyone,
Last year I planted this in a sunny container and it thrived, yet I realise this year that it may not be best suited to a sunny spot, as it hasn't come back strongly.
After doing some research I think it could be Woodruff, but am unsure. If it is, should it be replanted in a shady border?
Thank you :)

I've been gardening for more than 60 years ... I'm still learning 🤣

Welcome to the forum @LaurenMay ... looking forward to hearing more about your garden  B)

I've got woodruff planted on the north side of a fence and under a huge ash tree ... last winter we had the tree radically pollarded which has really increased the light the woodruff is getting ... the woodruff has spread much more this year than in all the previous years put together, so although it's still a shady area because of the fence, it obviously didn't like the really dense shade ... now it seems happier in lighter shade.

Thank you for the extra information! It is really helpful and I will keep that in mind when deciding where to plant it! 😁

From my experience, wooruff is a super-tough plant. If it enjoyed the pot last year I think it will enjoy it this year too. I would leave it be for a few months and see what happens. Might the pot have dried out?

I have replanted it now, the pot could have been dry, yet hopefully it will be happy in its new spot
