Oh I see. Adoration is a religious thing, isn't it? I don't go in for religion, even in relation to puppies. I might stretch to a 'lovely' if required to gush.
'Absolutely' is the one that gets me shouting at the TV, if that's what you mean. That has changed it's meaning apparently and is now a synonym of 'yes'.
I'm reasonably sure Henry beheaded more than one wife. But he was a serial killer/psychopath so whether he adored anyone (except himself) is rather doubtful

Passion and passionate. I reserve those sentiments in relation to my feelings for people - not my interests and hobbies.
Similarly, I get really cross when people describe a cooking mishap as a 'disaster' and say they're 'devastated' to not complete a dish or when they get knocked out of a competition. A train crash in which your son or partner dies is a disaster which leaves you devastated - not a f*#king lumpy gravy.
See - told you it made me cross.

@raisingirl ' gushing'. Maybe it's the gushing that annoys me more than the word itself but I definitely haven't got the adoration or the gushing gene.
Exponentially, as in "X is exponentially more than Y". If you know what the word Exponential means you can see that the sentence does not make sense. Whats wrong with "X is much more than Y"?
