My word is staycation.. Really annoys me that it seems to have replaced having a holiday. Having taken holidays in the UK all my life taking a staycation is looked upon as what you do if you can't have a proper holiday or one with a flight to a hot country..
I wonder if there’s anyone reading this thread saying “Yup, yup, and that one, there’s another, say that all the time, what’s wrong with that?, yup ....”
What would you / they want to call it? Is it the number number that offends? The trouble is, you can't speak in capital letters. You don't want to end up with haberdashery by mistake
people replacing "zero" with "Oh" when it's a number. O is a letter of the alphabet, 0 is a number You'd never say three , two , one , Oh. It's Zero You'd not say Oh % interest , it's Zero so why do folk say my phone number is Oh seven........ It's zero seven
The word that really gets my goat these days is 'woke', specifically when used pejoratively against anyone daring to... question certain things in our culture.
"What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour".
