Can I plant beans out under fleece now?

I didn't realise how fast these beans would grow. It says to plant after last frost, but if I put them under fleece would they be ok?

Also I'm not sure if they are big enough yet but they are not in deep modules, just standard ones so not sure if the roots are going to be happy for much longer...

We planted out dwarf french beans 2 weeks ago and then cloched the seedlings.
We had frosts every night except for last night here on the Somerset Levels.
    All doing ok.
Yours look very long and probably trying to get more light.
It obviously depends on where you are and what the forecasts are for your area.

If they’re runner beans I’d say no,  I don’t even sow my seed until the 1st May for planting out on the 1st June.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Hmm, some are dwarf french, some runner and some climbing french. Maybe I'll just try planting out soon and sow some more in case they die.

What did you cloche them with Bertrand?

Sow more anyway,so you get a succession of them. I have down Cobra, climbing French, not sown runners or dwarf yet. No way would I risk putting them outside yet,you might get away with an air Frost, but a ground frost, curtains. My neighbor did this 2 years ago, lost the lot. They are so quick to grow anyway

Remember anyway you must harden them off, ( get them used to outside temperature) first day time, then night at well, for at least a week

tomhumf   Once again you don't say where you are.  Mine are already planted out but I'm in the mild SW of Ireland.  Location can make a world of difference.

nick615, have you missed all the recent frosts then? I am in the SE UK farily near the sea, considered very mild, near the Sunshine Coast, and they wont go out for another month

Thanks Nanny, I'll follow your advice. I'm in Killamarsh near Sheffield Nick.

tomhumf  In that case, I'd wait.  Northerly wind and frosts will hit you there.

Nanny Beach  We haven't had a frost for several weeks now, in stark contrast to our son in Scaynes Hill.  If I see date 'x' on a seed packet for planting, I start 2-3 weeks earlier.  As a Mid Sussex native, I'm used to the weather but it's different here.

We used a tunnel cloche which we have today removed even though we had a slight frost last night.
April has been the worst year for decades for frosts and hopefully we will have some better temps in the next month so that we can actually sow seeds outside.
