Pear tree

Good evening ladies and gents... I recently bought a house and was told by previous owners there’s a pear and apple tree in the garden, I know absolutely sod all about plants, although I am trying to learn about foodie plants... I noticed today the ‘pear’ tree is covered in white flowers, would this be a fruit bearing tree? I’ll take a pic tomorrow if needed to identify

Mine is in full flower now too. It's a Conference Pear, we usually get a lovely crop. The difficulty comes when deciding the correct moment to pick them, we can compare notes from late August.  The apple tree will have pink buds.

thanks for your reply mate, I wasn’t sure if it was a ‘fruit’ pear tree or ornamental, I see online some don’t actually fruit, but mine looks like yours so I’m hopeful, yeah we’ll definitely compare notes, I’m quite looking forward to actually have something in my garden that I haven’t killed and can eat! I’ll have a look at the apple tree tomorrow and see if it’s flowering pink

  • The white flowers is definitely the same tree as above... the other tree is meant to be an apple tree and there’s my garden as a whole
