I'd go for Option 1. It's just not worth the stress. We had a similar thing trying to get a fencing person for a relatively small job. It took months of unanswered calls and missed appointments. Modern life, I fear.

I feel your frustration. If it were me, l would ring her and ask "What happened ?".
It might (just possibly) be that she has a genuine reason, although in this day and age there isn't really an excuse for not getting in contact somehow.
To be honest, being a nosy person l wouldn't be able to rest until l'd heard what she had to say.
I would then say (politely) that l was very disappointed, l'd expected better from someone who had such good reviews  ;)

Just called her and she had me in the diary for " next Wednesday "  so she will come to the front of my house next week at 5.30 pm.

Thats odd as we agreed the visit on Tuesday !

    No apology offered.

I think next Wednesday I will park up the road and sit in my car from about 5.20 pm and pretend i am on a stake out !!   B)

Ah - my contact is a man (we did RHS Level 2 together) and more of a landscaper, though his reason for doing L2 was to improve his plant knowledge and go into design more. So.not who you're looking for at all!

This has happened to me before with various trades people. It is frustrating and a waste of your time. I keep telling myself, at least I know this person is not reliable now, before I book them in to do the work.
