Staking Dalias in Pots

  • I did accidentally order when it gets to 6 feet tall and that’s what I figured I’d have to do with that one. Tying it to the fence makes sense. I ordered several dwarf varieties that I don’t think I’ll need to stake in the pot but then I have some that get to 3 to 4 feet and those are the ones that I think can be in pots but will need to be staked

Even 4ft ones can be unstable so group the pots behind pots of low plants  that won't tip over, or you can wedge them into the soil in your borders.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Good idea!!

I normally use sticks and string but Mrs vanguard is insisting we can’t do that any more...and insists it can’t look unkempt...so this is what I’m going for this year...still waiting to put the dahlias in..(the pots are broader at the bottom than they look so hoping they are quite stable!)

Where did you get these supports from? They are very beautiful.
