    Yes @Skandi, looks more like petisites to me than gunnera.

    My own gunnera is in a pot and, after an earlier discussion on another thread, will be planted out in one end of the pond because it won't mind having water overhead in winter as much as it would mind having its crown frosted.

    The cardoon should be ok, next time when it snows knock off the snow so it doesn’t sit on it. Might stop the freeze.
    Fingers crossed, they are just stumps in the pots at the moment ,how long shall i give it for new signs of life?

    I will definitely protect in the future.
