It'll do it good to have a workout then.

Thanks Obelixx. I had to take that photo. The Choughs were snuggled up together on that branch in the damp fog. 😁

Back from our walk around Chatsworth, very quiet, which was an added bonus.
The new woodland areas designed by Tom Stuart-Smith are starting to knit together quite well.
No photos, it was far too cold to be standing about.

I think the visit to the market this morning must have invigorated me. I've been gardening the afternoon, weeding and removing lawn for my new rose bed, quite tough going.

That's a shame Punkdoc, I do like Chatsworth and hope to visit again this year. It's been perishing here this afternoon.

Hands up, I've just given in and opened the wine, I'm in dire need as my brain hurts. I can't cope with new technology. Trying to set up a WI-FI disc which won't work in any of the three rooms I've tried it in.
@Obelixx, pleased you've had your 1st jab, hope the arm doesn't bother youΒ  much.

Lizzie27 I want s glass, I'm soooh tired. Got up at 6.30 time whizzed by left just after 9 to get to the vet for 11,there are so many roadworks. Was early so popped into no:2 son first ( carer, long-term sick) then vet. First dog sorted and back, then anaesthesia checklist, medical history, signed consent forms. Was going y visit no:1son ( also longer-term sick) got most of the way, phone call, pulled over in nearest safe spot. Vets she was ready. They wanted me to collect her as soon as possible because she was distressed. Turned round, only got a couple of miles, road closure sign, but just the red ones used by roadworks, and near the block, not at the beginning of the road So I had to turn round took me 45 minutes to go 10 miles. It appeared to be a massive Road Traffic Crash ( there you are,no abbreviations!!).3 police vehicles and then 3 Fire Tenders. Didn't see get to sons, because the dog needed to get home, where she promptly threw up.

Good evening. It’s a long weekend for me and I am more than ready for a few lie-ins, pottering in the garden and some good food. How is it nearly May??!!Β

I hope you enjoyed your trip out @punkdoc and expect you have a choice bottle for this evening πŸΎπŸ·πŸŽ‰.

Had a late lunch after the long round hospital trip with Dad today, so not sure what to eat tonight...

Hope all are ok - particularly post jab or headache, and those with pains or bothers.

  • Evening all,
Again, sounds like most of you have had good days, @Nanny Beach, not quite so much.Β
@Busy-Lizzie, I love the French markets but do struggle with carrying/juggling shopping bags and then trying to lean over and pay and then getting it all back to the car, I can see why do many French have the shopping bags on wheels.Β

Curry night went smoothly, as predicted some last minute stragglers, why do they always do that! I followed the recipe to the letter, but for me it wasn't quite spicy enough, I imagine for the French it was fine. Onion bhajis were delicious though, can't beat homemade.Β

Interviewed a great girl for a waitress job today. With her and another one from the other day, fingers crossed I'll be sorted now for the summer. Always a relief to have good staff lined up, keeping them is the problem, so many move on to better things, usually students just working over summer, this one though lives locally and has a 5 year old, so perhaps will be a more permanent fixture. I hope so, it's so expensive to train them all.Β
    Β
Must get my seedlings covered up now, the mice love Cosmos and Marigolds, I'm hoping to get them in the ground soon, they just need to get a bit bigger and the soil just needs to warm up a little bit.Β

Tomatoes went out, under the cloches, but they're definitely not happy. Two chances I'm afraid, couldn't mess about with them any longer.Β  πŸ™„

Anyway, good evening all, I presume you'll be watching GW soon, I'm off to bed shortly, and tomorrow is list making day, it's going to be a long one! 19 more sleeps until we open. 😱

    I'm pleased you've found a great girl @D0rdogne_Damsel.
I only had one shopping bag, I filled it, but the car park was very close by. The market was in a car park, joined to another car park. Maybe they sell other stuff apart from food when there isn't Covid.

I'm feeling quite stiff now from gardening, bedtime very soon.
