Ok, thanks. Think the temp is due to rise above 0c from around 9am Mon-Wed. Maybe I should get the fleece on a few things each evening just to be sure.
The only thing I might fleece tonight is the blossom on the espaliered pear. We didn’t get frost last night but I think we will tonight and the warm sunshine we have this morning may open the buds ... ❄️

Slight frost on the car windows this morning but nothing else seems to have been touched. Don't know that the next couple of nights will be so fortunate 😬
If fruit trees are in bud, but no blossom yet; are they safe from frost? Or should I tuck them up tomorrow night? (They are about 5 years old, so still of a size that I could protect them.)
Last year we had a late frost mid May and lost all the fruit from the pear, apple and blueberries
Age doesn't make you forgetful. Having way too many stupid things to remember makes you forgetful.
Just checked the pear blossom after a day of sunshine ... it’s still tightly encased in the green calices ... hopefully it’ll be ok without protection. 🤞

If the frost is just present for around a few hours during the very early hours of the morning then the sun quickly thaws it, is that still likely to cause damage to the plants?
Yep, this must have happened last night and morning. My poor new senetti plant pots suddenly drooping. Will it survive? I’ve popped it indoors now.
I placed fleece around my plants yesterday and today the temp will be no higher than 5c (bright sunshine all day). However, the strong winds are providing a windchill of -4c. Should I leave the fleece on to protect from the freezing wind as I’ve read cold, strong winds are also very bad for plants, especially shrubs.
