Is this an Oriental Bittersweet?

And if it is, should I dig it up so that it doesn’t strangle my pear tree and grape vine?

    They are not at all common in the UK, and I thought they were vines.

    Perhaps it's just a regular grape vine then? We've just moved into the house and I don't know what anything is! 'PictureThis' is telling me it's an Oriental Bittersweet, but it's not always right...

    I don't want to dig it up if it's a grape vine....

    HI @Jane_in_Norfolk I would advise leaving things during your first year as you may well have some real 'gems' of plants in your new garden.  Cutting back or removing things now could be an expensive mistake!
    There are folk on this forum for are very good indeed at identifying things (much better than any app.) and will only be too happy to help. :)
    However, you will need to wait a couple of weeks with that one until it has grown a bit more, then send more photo's, preferably including a close-up of the leaves. :)
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    That's really good advice Bob - I was intending to leave most things well alone for the reasons you mentioned, but I've been taking photos of everything that's springing into life and running them through the app, and this one got me a bit worried as it said Oriental Bittersweet is a rampant invasive species and needs to be grubbed out immediately.

    I'll do as you say, wait a few weeks and take some close-ups of the leaves.

    This intrigued me as I'd never heard of Oriental Bittersweet.  So I looked it up - this is what the RHS has to say about it: https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/3307/Celastrus-orbiculatus/Details
    But when I first saw the pics I immediately thought philadelphus, trained as a wall shrub.  Mine is just coming into leaf and looks similar.

    Ah, Ok...I guess a few more weeks will give me a better idea. A philadephus would be good!

    A few weeks has passed and my mystery plant has shot up! The PictureThis app is now telling me it’s either a Toxicodendron diversilobum (Pacific Poison Oak), which seems highly unlikely, a common quince (which seems more likely) or a Duranta Erecta (golden dewdrops). So frankly I haven’t a clue!

    It doesn't have any flowers (or even any flower buds that I can see) - the flowers you see in the bottom photo are on the rambling pear tree behind it.
