I think I've only ordered seeds in the past year - wouldn't normally use them for seeds but they had something I wanted when no one else did. However, I have previously bought plants and bulbs and yes, they are quite expensive but have always been excellent quality.

Well my microwave has just gone boom so no plant shopping for me yet; knew I was doing too well to have spare money for some pretties!
Thanks everyone, will have a look at some other sites later if I'm not completely broke 😭

Yes, SR often has things I can't find anywhere else.

I use SR for the more unusual stuff - quality has always been great.

I use Claire Austin a lot too - highly recommend 👍🏻.  And love Hardys too - although already been mentioned.

SR quality has also been great for me. In Covid times delivery has been sometimes slow, but then that is the same for many big companies.
  • Sarah ravens usually very good but pricey.could be down to so many people ordering if things aren't delivered on time

Sarah Raven seems to be very good at marketing - catalogues arrive with astonishing regularity and they are beautifully produced. (This is perhaps why things are bit more expensive)  I have fallen for a whole bunch of dahlias which are more unusual. They have now arrived; the tubers are looking nice and plump and I have every confidence they will be just fine.

I love her books and colour palette. Hers is strong 'brand'.

I've had a mixed bag- sometimes excellent quality and prompt delivery, sometimes quality poor and ages waiting. I still use it when there's something I can't get elsewhere or if I have vouchers, but always shop around first. I do love the catalogues with a cuppa though!

It is a strong brand with very clever marketing, the magazines are just amazing eye candy! I’ve just discovered her podcast that she has started with Arthur Parkinson very enjoyable and useful for beginners and established gardeners alike. It’s called Grow, cook eat and arrange. There will be a book to follow @Fire
