As expected, Possum not thrilled, especially when the slow worms were featured.  She has a thing about snakes, even when they're legless lizards.

Lawn stuff fascinating tho I already knew most of it.  Possum bemused by the Haha concept and name.   Didn't get to see anything after that cos someone is recording the flipping Masters golf!  I shall have to wait till tomorrow.

I rather enjoyed it tonight. I thought the lawns piece was much more interesting than I expected it to be and I've decided that I really like Advolly as a presenter - I find her very engaging! The London gardens were good to see again and that Nottingham allotment was really very pretty. Also I now have a pretty good idea why my Oriental poppies did so poorly last year!

My poppies, too! Didn't get the impression they recover, might dig them out.

@iaincd same here re Advolly, she often features things that I think I have no interest in but her presenting draws me in.

Really getting tired of viewers videos. Woman in America has discovered she can grow things indoors...well thanks for that, but I will be hitting FF when I rewatch. Will need a new FF button soon.

Loved the piece on the allotment and the London gardens.
  • Really enjoyed tonight, that allotment was absolute goals!

Dump the American woman and I’d give it 10/10. I thought it was a great show tonight and was moved, again, by Kate Garraway’s story.

What I am baffled about is the ineffective influence of Mrs Don. If I tried to garden in a smart fawn jacket I would receive a very large slice of tongue pie.

Curdled cream on top of your tongue pie @BenCotto? :D

  • Hmm.. not a "keeper" for me I'm afraid. In fact IMHO one of the poorest episodes for a while. Can't please everybody all time.
  • That lady From Nottingham, Katrina has a YouTube channel and Instagram for anyone who’d like to see more of her allotment- it’s called homegrown.garden
  • The history of lawns segment was dull as anything.

Have the featured gardens bits always been filmed in summer? Feels jarring to see squash ready to harvest in April.

Do they need to continue with the “from home” videos still? I’d expect COVID issues to be dealt with by now, but they’re still padding the programme out with these and with repeated segments from last year (Garroway).
