Plus, gardeners live in hope. Given the numbers of trained gardeners around who will have been sat twiddling their thumbs whilst on furlough thru Covid, not to mention the resources of staff and expert gardeners in the RHS/NT/Scottish NT/English Heritage/Kew I wouldn't have thought it beyond the bounds of imagination or possibility to commission some film from some of those.
I look forward to GW every week. There are bits I love and bits I don't and that's what FF is for.
Exactly, and to be fair, until you've watched it , you don't know if you're going to love it or not.
Pretty sure I know that your comments on the next episode will be negative, before either of us have watched it.
Pardon my honesty. I hope you know there's an ignore facility on the Forum?. You need never seem my comments ever again
And pardon mine, I like your comments on any other subject
Kind of you to say so. We shall agree to disagree on this subject eh?
I'll always watch gardeners world as its one of the only programs I do watch. I've been watching old episodes from years ago on YouTube and am enjoying them more than the new ones.
Gardeners world seems to be more about people than plants these days. I agree there is room for an element of that but I feel I'm being preached to as opposed to learning. I don't watch it to be reminded of how much stress and trouble there is in the world, but to FORGET it for a while.
And if I see another viewers video of people new to gardening telling people how to garden, let's say I'd rather have shots of dogs and birds! I'm not ungrateful, just regularly disappointed these days. I learn a lot more from the old shows on YouTube.
I agree, @WonkyWomble. But don't you think it's a bit like the programmes about cooking, sewing, making things, even cars? It's entertainment rather than useful learning and the emphasis is on people and fun or mental health rather than on the task.
I absolutely agree @Posy, trouble is it used to be a gardening program for gardeners. There are more than enough programs that cater to everyone else, this was 1 hour a week I used to look forward to.
Caught up with Beechgrove yesterday, after reading the comments on here ..... loved it 😍. Unbelievable how much nature can rampage in 7 months 😱😱😱. But also heartening to see how quickly they have turned some areas back round again. Seems that gardens are always teetering on the edge of chaos 🤣
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks as if tonight's GW is cancelled for a BBC news special (continuing coverage about the Duke of Edinburgh I expect). As far as I can tell the Sunday morning repeat slot is still in the schedule - 0635.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
Saddened though I am about the Duke of Edinburgh's demise I do suspect that the media are rubbing their hands in glee at the opportunity to wheel out all of the programmes they have made about his life that they have just been waiting to broadcast. Yes its sad, yes its sad for the family but it was not unexpected and to have nothing but wall to wall docs. about Prince Philip and speculation about what the funeral will look like, and will Harry be invited fills me with gloom. I'd much rather watch Gardeners World - even with the viewers' films and repeats.

I only FF the soldier's segment, kinda wish I'd used it on the daff section too.
