Not to worry.  There are all sorts of other recipes to try out.  This lockdown lark has been the occasion to experiment.  Last night I did a Country Captain version of shepherd's pie and it was delish - https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/country_captain_95324

I might slip that in the list as a modern version of a classic just to tease them.  The French don't seem to want to play with their traditional recipes.

@Nanny Beach - forgot to say, if British cooks limited their recipes to what is grown in the UK you'd have a very dull diet and no exotic spices or fruits or veg.

Banoffee pie is definitely on the list.

We had our Teams chat this morning and this is what has been decided:

Kedgeree; Fish and chips; Salmon in pastry with a medieval stuffing and cream and herb sauce

Coronation chicken; Pork and apples in cider with herby dumplings; Irish stew

Banoffee pie; Strawberry and rhubarb crumble; Chocolate and ginger pots and, because the head chef is still talking about it since we did it two years ago, Chunky marmalade bread and butter pudding made with Vendée brioche.

3 British women guides and 9 students.   Buffet lunch for 30 people coming up.

Well @Dovefromabove, you'd be welcome to come and help as we have no other volunteers at the mo but I suspect travel will still be problematical.  May 11th is the day.

I'll have to haul the Tardis out of the garage and dust it down a bit ...

That'll learn 'em. Not eager about banoffee pie or bb pudding  so I'll fill up on the crumble. Do you do deliveries?
