It is quite stunning. Do the local houses have similar gardens? It seems a particularly fine example.

Other houses in the wider vicinity are built in a similar style and they all tend to have some sort of traditional garden. Immediately near here it does seem to be a good example. It is a little bit rural where I am, and you tend to see more like this. I am moving from a nearby town and there it is slightly rarer.
I am generalising a bit, but I think it was a little difficult to sell because most Japanese (particularly the younger generation), are not so interested in this type of house. They want a modern looking western style. Ironically, it tends to be foreigners like myself who are more into it. 😜 You get a slightly bemused reaction when you tell people where you live.

Thanks! I’m very lucky. That said, living so far away from home, especially in the present times where I’m not really able to travel, I would love to get the chance to spend some time in an English garden. 🌹 🤩 That’s kind of become ‘exotic’ for me, in a way.

    Afternoon/Morning😉,

I took a few quick snaps just now. I’ll number them for ease of reference later. I hope they are of interest. If anyone has any ideas as to the names, it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

    1)

An App I am trying out suggests this is a ‘Japanese Bayberry’. No idea really though.

I am not sure why, but some of my photos are being turned on their side. I’ve tried editing them and turning them around. The building behind is a ‘Kura’.

Some sort of pine, I suppose. 🧐
