This one suggested as ‘Japanese Bayberry’. I think I was getting confused. Perhaps No. 1 might be ‘Japanese Ternstroemia’.

re no 10... I haven't seen one that big here , but might it be prunus lusitania portuguese laurel? The leaves look a bit similar to one I have ( assuming of course that mine is what I think it is!) -- edited to change to no 10 -- the one you have as kurogane holly
Kindness is always the right choice.

Japanese Photinia? There is a well below.

In case you didn’t know, Japanese wells are square, not round. Hence the Chinese character, 井.

Thanks very much indeed. I really have no idea, so was just guessing from a few I found online. You could well be right. Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

    Last but not least...

No prizes for me in guessing this as some sort of cherry blossom.

I shall enjoy sitting here with a drink at some point. Not finally moving in for a few weeks and just back and forth with boxes. Shame to not be quite living there when it is in full bloom.
  • Tagging @Silver surfer - there are quite a few trees and shrubs here (nicely individually listed and enumerated up to 17) that may benefit from ID'ing.

    So sorry.
But far too many in one thread.
It will get very messy and difficult to follow having to flip back and for to look at pic..then read all posts to see if answer for that number has been given. ..esp if lots of folk chip in with suggestions.

I would recommend posting one at a time.
Then questions can be asked. eg extra pics to show more detail.
    When answered add another.

    17. Not 100% that it is a cherry.
    Maybe another fruit tree...Prunus armeniaca....Apricot?
However from pics I do not have the knowledge to be confident.
    So sorry.

  • Ah that's OK @Silver surfer it was a bit rude of me to drag you in this way, and the feedback is good, I hadn't realised those aspects you mentioned.

    Not a problem.
    No..not rude at all!
I thought it was really kind of you to ask.

On  old RHS  forums many years ago someone posted about 20 pics all different plants/pics not numbered....many chipped in with helpful answers..many different suggestions...some right..others very wrong.
OMG you have no idea what a mess it got into.
It went on for many many pages.
To keep up meant constantly going back and for... reading all comments/making lists etc.

Ever since  then I suggest that max 3 different plants per thread is much more manageable.

On a USA forum..they have strict rules.
    One plant per thread.
    It works REALLY well.
Makes any lengthy discussion easy/possible as you know everyone is talking about the same plant.
Means that at a later date pics can be added to show more detail to move discussion on to a correct /amicable conclusion.
