@Fire aw thank you, I will do! The rose is a hybrid tea, thinking of you. I only remember the name of one of the petunias which is black satin which are my favourites
Thanks KoG. The Astrantia have been amazing this year. Weirdly no insects seemed to touch them for ages and the all of sudden they were covered. Sorry about the orientation of some of the pictures- phone just seems to do it automatically
@Loxley lovely pictures. What’s the climber behind the chair?
Thanks, it's Trachelospermum jasminiodes. It's been in that spot for 4 years - it seems a bit lazy to actually climb
Oh nice…a bit like my Cobaea scandens - I expected them to be taking over my garden based on what I’d read online. It’s barely made it up the bamboo pole….
@1634 Racine Lovely astrantias and great shots of insects on them! I only started with Astrantias a couple of weeks ago; planted 3 specimens (plugs) of A. 'Shaggy' and I'm looking forward to them flowering (probably not this year, though).
Nice specimen of Rutpela maculata, the spotted longhorn, on your first pic.
I'm getting there. Three months since we moved in. Some things need to be moved for next year and I'm trialling some new plants I've not grown before (only ever had pots; never a garden).
The shrubs I've planted will give more height and structure once they have found their feet and shoot up...

The longhorn is beautiful isn’t it. I have to say the insect photography has got a bit out of hand.

Might try bulbs this year too....
