I’m actually a few weeks behind for a lot of things @didyw, my hot border is looking very bare! But other things seem to have benefited from all the rain we have been having in May, despite the much colder than usual temps. Comfort yourself with the fact it will be all over for me when you are still enjoying your garden in all it’s summer glory 😆

@steveTu - you're right, of course. My garden is very new, nothing much in it after 17 years of neglect, so I get a bit depressed at the scale of the task before me - and I'm struggling a bit with alkaline clay soil, rain, strong winds and honey fungus. However, I can offer these:
Camassia and cowslip in the meadow Tulip 'Swan Wings'. Not sure if I like it or not. Anemone coronaria 'The Bride' with un-named B&Q reduced-to-clear Erica.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Lovely pics @Liriodendron and I do like the Swan Wings very much. I spend a lot of time in my garden walking around with deliberate blinkers on. Close up photos of single blooms is definitely the way to go. The rest will get there eventually.

Beautiful tulips @Slum, all very neat and uniformed and I love the coloured stems too. My dicentra, a white one, is so far behind where it usually is at this time of year, I was looking at last year's photos when it was in full bloom at this time, just a few buds so far this year. Just not enough warmth or sunshine.

Hi @Liriodendron ... I bought some anemone The Bride last year, and two different flowers appeared... the supplier informed me that this one is The Bride...
most of our bulbs are pot grow partly because of clay soil and it's extremely difficult to get depths to plant them because of existing tree roots and the patio is huge about 30 by 20 feet needs some colour.all the azaleas, rhododendrons, magnolias , Acer's are out now
