I have a few small projects planned. This will be my first year with a poly-greenhouse so I am hoping to grow more from seeds and cultivate more veg than usual. I also have a large pile of stones and paving that I could do something with. My other project will be helping my recently-widowed Mum-in-law to improve her gardening skills and make her garden look more colourful and cheerful. It will probably just be pots but I think we can create something pretty for her to enjoy tending too and looking at.
I've got my fruit and veg growing ambitions, new beds in the back garden with (hopefully) lots of lovely flowers and grasses (if I can stop the local cats digging up things and eating them, they're that brazen they carry on until I chase them away with a stick (I don't hit them)) and basically a new front garden. We had our dead hedges dug out today and the plan is to make borders and plant throughout with a couple of shrubs and grasses at the back. If budget allows, we also want to do some work on the brick wall (used to be a shed until the previous owner knocked it down and left it in a right mess) and make that look nice as a seating area.
I’m going to try a couple of no dig raised veg beds this year. Already have the decking for them. Am part way painting them and just waiting for lockdown restrictions to be eased before my friend can help me put them together.
