  • OH has a bit of a achey arm @Chivetalking otherwise ok. I did give him some paracetamol before he went for vaccine. He also had more yesterday afternoon and evening and then some again this morning.
Some golf friends had the vaccine yesterday too, but at their Drs surgery  10 miles away.  He is ok, but unfortunately she has had a really bad reaction. Really bad headaches shivering and aching all over.  Hopefully it won't last too long.
    Glad your son arrived safely.
Rosie glad your back is better today, hope you're not in too much pain.

Thinking of you @Yviestevie hope your SIL is starting to feel a bit better today.
  • Chive I’m glad your son arrived safely.  Wild and windy out with snowfall.  Hazel I hope you were wrapped up for walk with oh.  Lily I hope oh continues to take paracetamol for a while and feels better soon.  Sorry to hear of pansy I wish her a speedy recovery.

Afternoon folks,  Had an update from Firstborn.  SIL had a terrible night.  His canular came out and there was blood everywhere.  He tried to get someone to sort it out but no-one answered the bell.  He eventually got out of bed himself and stripped it.  He spent the rest of the night lying on the plastic mattress with a sheet over him dithering.  Someone came round at 6.00 a.m. and did nothing about it.  He is threatening to discharge himself it is so bad in there.
His mum who is a retired nurse contacted the hospital and made a formal complaint.  Someone came to apologise to him.  His sister is also a nurse who trains other nurses.  She contacted a few nurses she had helped train and they are in the process of trying to persuade him to stay.  He is currently on steroids and oxygen.  I desperately want to go and help Firstborn.  They have all tested negative now but Hubby doesn't want me to go.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Good afternoon everyone, so few children in the class today that I wasn’t needed at work,
Rosie I’m pleased your back ache has eased but I think an easy day is a good idea don’t want to aggravate it again,
Hazel Well done for going out to walk, it is freezing so I don’t blame you for making it a brief one,
SGL I hope OH’s arm ache eases off soon. Sorry to hear about your golf friends OH it does seem that some experience a very bad reaction to the jab, hope she improves soon.
Yvie What a nightmare situation this is, I don’t know what to say it sounds horrific. Good idea to enlist the help of the nurses trained by his sister, I just hope you all come out the other side of this dark tunnel soon. Best wishes,

Its freezing cold I’m almost sat directly in front of the fire, stew is bubbling away.
Hope you all have a nice evening, stay warm.
  • Hi Hazel it’s just Sunday left overs combined with fridge oddments, becomes knock up stew 😀 love a pie enjoy your dinner 🥧

Afties all. Yvie, that sounds like the hospital from hell. Hope your SIL rallies soon and can get home. Chive, I'm pleased that you managed to remember to turn on the cooker for the stew It started snowing again here at about 16:15 Hazel and I can feel the temperature dropping. We definitely need to be staying in and keeping warm tonight.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
  • That sounds awful. The hospital stay so far sounds very traumatic. I know hospitals are busy at the moment but the treatment received sounds shocking.

It has snowed here, on and off all day. This afternoon, the snow showers got longer and the time between them got shorter. I am expecting  more to come. Hopefully not too much more.

Cannot beat a left overs tea. I always think it tastes so good the next day
