Morning folks. Firstborn is much better today. The antibiotics are doing their thing and I can tell from her voice that she is not so worried. Her Hubby is another matter and is struggling with his breathing. He has been put on antibiotics but that causes a whole new raft of problems as he is allergic to virtually all of them. He usually ends up having to get light treatment on his skin whenever he has them. Not out of the woods yet but I’m a lot more positive than I was. Have a good day folks. I’m on manna duty with the boys.

Morning SGL, T'Bird, RosieBB and Hazel. T'Bird, that sounds like a fascinating talk. I would love something like that but so far my U3A hve not had much of interest to me. I share your hopes that we get better news from Yvie today. Hazel, following your comments, it was interesting to hear on TV this morning that the numbers of flu sufferers have dropped dramatically because of us having to stay inside. Glad to hear that your Mum is fine.

Gosh, Yvie, your post wasn't there when I did mine but I'm so pleased to hear your update on firstborn and hope that her OH shows some improvement soon. I am allergic to some antibiotics too, especially one called Septrin forte. I have spent an age dismantling a bird feeder to clean it and am grabbing some lunch now.

Yvie - good news about your daughter. Not so good for SIL. Let's hope things continue to improve.

LB - the talk was quite interesting although it's very easy to be distracted by other things when you're sat in your own space. Some of the other participants either don't realise or forget that everyone can see what they're doing if they've elected to have their video switched on. Somebody was doing embroidery, another one a jigsaw, other people checking their phones (it's not just teenagers!)... I'm just grateful people are prepared to put in the time organising these sorts of things.

Arm and elbow supports have just turned up so I'm going to unpack them and see what they're like. Hope they help!

  • Good afternoon everyone, I was very shocked to hear about Captain Tom I do hope he makes a good recovery,
Hazel Pleased to hear your mum had her 1st injection on Saturday without any problems, do you have a date for the follow up one? And good news that 23 & his mum are better, such a relief for you. Nice to start planning plants to buy for the garden, the Clematis sounds nice,
Rubee Hope your shopping arrived on time and is put away now, nice to get the shelves filled,
Topbird I’m glad you enjoyed the online meeting about Victorian street life, it does sound interesting. It made me smile your comment about people forgetting they’re on camera. I hope the arm & elbow supports help your joints.
RosieBB I hope it’s thawed a little where you are we had a very damp overcast morning.
Yvie That is good to hear firstborn is responding to the antibiotics and sounding better, I hope SIL starts to improve soon too,
SGL I’m glad the poppets are all ok, I hope you’ll be able to see them soon for lots of proper hugs.
LB Hope you got your bird feeder all assembled again, I bet Robby was keeping watch,
    Have a nice evening everyone.

Afternoon everyone. I've been gardening and loving every minute of getting outside in the fresh air. Needless to say I'm cream crackered now though. Hazel, I had one of those Clematis - the one called Joe, which was my Dad's name, but the frost, one severe winter finished it off. I believe they have some more hardy ones now. It is beautiful.
T'Bird, I reckon I would be the one caught out on camera. Our next U3A zoom talk is on the 10th and its about Hylda Baker.

Hello Chive. How was work today? Robby sits in pole position on top of the whirligig, peering in through the window. What with him giving me the beady eye and Lily doing similar inside the house I end up with guilty feelings and I've not even done anything! I was pleased to see that Hoppity figured in my bird watch yesterday. Definitely a female and managing quite well with just one foot.

Good evening everyone. Work a bit difficult but popped to IKEA for click and collect all very well organised and a few more bits for the bedroom sorted.
Pleased to hear that people are getting their vaccines without too much trouble. Good news from Yvie hope there is more to come.
How lovely to spend time in the garden LB hoping to get a few hours tomorrow. I have bulbs in pots poking through and got a pretty tray of white primula in Asda today so I may plant up the pots by the front door. Just to brighten the place up a bit.
  • Evening LB, they do have a look that makes you feel guilty. Sounds like you had a good day spent in the garden. Work is going ok thank you, the children I’m with are a nice group and they keep me entertained 😀
Debs Will be nice to get out in to your garden tomorrow, hard to believe it was all covered in snow recently.
    Have a nice evening.
