Evening LB. It's about new rules about seeds and plants import/export between UK an EU. It' possible to import seeds but prices and taxes are just ridiculous on both sides.
Debs, so nice to hear that your job is likely safe.
I've just had a very depressing email from the Wildlife Trusts regarding the terrible news that the Government has granted
emergency authorisation of a neonicotinoid pesticide for use on sugar
beet. Sugar beet is not a flowering plant but bees and other pollinators will still be affected by it. It is going to be used as a seed dressing and will last for a long time in the soils, leaching into water courses and being taken up by roots, affecting plants and animals alike. I've signed the Wildlife Trusts' petition to the P.M. and emailed my M.P. Sometimes you just feel you are spitting in the wind (Ante: means wasting your time trying to do something that has little chance of any success).
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening everyon, oops I thought I'd posted this afternoon. Been going through old paper work and shredding most of it. Debs, do hope all goes well with your job. I hate change too. Aww, Ruby, good news about you having the vaccine. Hoping OH heard soon as he's in the vunerable group. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Not sure if I get it at the same time, because of looking after him......but probably have to wait for the next group or two below.Â
I've never tried Baileys.....the smell and look of it puts me off.....reminds me of cough medicine 🤣🤣 Poured with rain all day and forecast for rest of the week too.Â
Ante and Debs you are welcome to share a Baileys LB that is dreadful news re the sugar beet. Â I hope the petition changes things. Â Ante sorry to hear of seed problems. Â Debs I wish for a good outcome. Â Goodnight everyone, sleep well.
Lily I was quite surprised when we had a phone call from our doctors asking us to have our vaccinations .They phoned yesterday giving us appointments for this lunch time .They seem to be getting injections done remarkably quickly .The letter requesting us to make an appointment for the injections came today after I had my Jab .
Ruby, good job you had the phone call about your vaccine, otherwise you'd have missed it.....and who knows if you'd have to wait for awhile. Post is bad at the moment, due to back log and posties being off sick. Hope you don't have an achy arm.Â
@Chivetalking hope you and your family are ok. Hope to see you soon.
Very windy out there tonight, it's howling. Night night everyone, sleep well.
Good morning all. Wet and windy here so not looking forward to going to work but hoping there may be more news about any changes.Â
Had some good news, my favourite uncle and his husband have both had covid and are recovering well, uncle is 72 with a very weak chest he often gets pneumonia so it was a worry but he didn’t need to go to hospital and at least now should have some immunity.Â
Ante could anyone on here post you seeds? Is that allowed?Â
LB I am shocked about the bees and signing as many petitions as possible let’s hope it does some good.Â
