Afternoon everyone, Sorry for late arrival, I was feeling a bit down this morning, but after a few phone calls from friends and the poppets, feeling a bit better now. Thank you from me too LB for the daily pics and the quizzes. Thank you too, to all the friends on Rez for all the kind words, support and friendly chat and laughs through these crazy times this year. Such a lovely bunch on here. Wishing you all a happy Christmas and let's hope 2021 is a much happier and healthier year for us all
Afternoon all. Thank you so much Ruby. It is a pleasure for me to do it all. To all those who may not appear on Rez today because they are being busy bees in their homes getting ready for tomorrow, and who may play 'catch up' later on, I would like to wish you all the very best for Christmas Day. May the joys of Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp bring you all closer together to your loved ones.
@biglad as you are cooking, I think it only fair that others decorate the tree.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I have just had a text which made me laugh from my Canasta friend. The OH of another of our Canasta team got a surprise in the post today (of all days) - a bowel testing kit! 💩 and a merry Christmas to him!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I carried it in, tightened it upright in the base, cut the netting off and swept up all the mess. Thought if I left it and went for a run, somebody might crack on with the 5 boxes of decorations that I got down from the loft. Think again, Biglad!
Hello - Happy Christmas Eve🙂 Wow! so much rain yesterday - quite a bit of localised flooding but now turning much colder.
Logs were delivered at 7pm 😬 last night. A lovely young couple who are currently working 15 hour days to make a go of their new venture. They’ve just had a baby who was asleep in the truck. Apparently he was helping to deliver logs at a day old 😁 They deserve every success when they work so hard.
Lily - sorry you’ve been told to isolate again. It was all a bit easier when the weather was nice wasn’t it?
Biglad - you need to drop bigger hints about getting the tree decorated. Like - nobody gets any gin / beer / chocolate / whatever until it's done...
I would like to echo everyone's sentiments re the work LB puts in to making Rezzers such a happy space. Thank you 🙂
Had some good news this morning. Everybody in the family who had to take a test has tested negative for Covid - although they are all still required to isolate for 10 days. Only nephew-in-law is positive & he's been locked away in a bedroom.
However, 2 nieces & a partner didn't need to do the test because they hadn't seen the family for a few days. They can't see their isolating family tomorrow so they've decided to spend the day with their grandma (my MIL). That means she won't be on her own tomorrow after all - hurrah!!
Nieces were going food shopping today and MIL will do the cooking tomorrow. She seemed very happy. They're lovely girls and will keep her entertained all day long🥰
Sorry if that's all a bit of a jumbled post - started it at 9am and edited at various points through the day - always forgetting to post it - been busy prepping food for tomorrow and the timer keeps going off!!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
All cats sorted out for tonight. Boy but it is really cold outside! 🥶 No snow here yet though which is a bit disappointing.
The top bit of this post should have been posted over an hour ago (glad its not just me T'Bird!) but I have to say that is the most wonderful news regarding your MIL. I am so happy for her and for you and your OH as that must have eased your minds also. I love the idea of a tiny person delivering logs and well done to the young couple for taking on such an enterprise.

I am so sorry to read that you felt a bit down earlier today SGL. That email must have knocked you back so much. I hope that the happy smiles of the Poppets make it less painful for you. As Ante said, we are here if you feel like text screaming into the void!

Peaceful, holiday evening here with lot of biscuits and tea. Nothing of snow, just rain and very warm.
SGL, have a very Happy Christmas, and if you fell down, just remember that we are here for chat.
LB, what an appropriate gift for wife, especially on Christmas😂.
Hazel, I'm glad that you have white Christmas Eve.
