Afties all. Still raining! On the scale of 1 to 10 of fed-up-ed-ness I think I'm at 25!
SGL, you are not alone in misunderstanding about where Chey's Grandma lived as I thought she lived in Germany too, and it was only when I enquired about the time of the funeral and if it was Germany time or UK time that Chey told me the funeral was in England - Markeaton in Derbyshire to be accurate. I do hope he managed to get there as he was extremely fond of her and will miss her. I will pass on your wishes.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning all, I'm with you LB, really fed up today. I have lots of paperwork that needs doing and I really can't be bothered. I'm off to Secondborn's this afternoon to pick the boys up from school and will stay until tomorrow evening. There are problems over where the boys will be at Christmas. Their dad is saying they should be with him Christmas Eve and Christmas day, even though they have been in the lakes with his family for the last two Christmasses. Secondborn suggested that they stay with her Christmas eve and go to his for Christmas Dinner and Boxing Day. He could even come down Christmas morning and see the boys opening their pressies, this would allow us to see them on Christmas morning for the first time in 3 years. Secondborn can't go to his house as his whole family will be there and they are being extremely unpleasant to her, refusing to speak to her and making her feel really uncomfortable. I have told her to stand her ground this year, so we will see what happens.
On a more positive note I have made the Christmas Pud this morning and it is steaming away in the kitchen.
Afternoon, slight muddle on my sign off earlier but you know what I meant, Lily đ They always associate me with food, at home itâs just the same! Glad youâve recovered from your broken night, itâs been extremely cold and wet here hope your keeping warm, LB sorry your feeling fed up, miserable weather doesnât do much to lift your spirits does it. Did you manage to go to the village earlier? I wouldnât blame you if youâd given it a miss, Yvie I hope that your daughter can spend Christmas with her sons, itâs been a very difficult time for you all, Rosie the thought of Alfie in the drawer made me smile, I wonder if he was trying to help or just saw an opportunity đș Have a nice evening everyone.
LB, I was sure Chey said his Grandma lived in Germany and that he missed her. Perhaps they are having a service for her here too.Â
Oh Yvie, I do hope things get sorted for you, so your daughter is able to see her sons on Christmas morning. That's very unfair of him, especially as his parents saw them the previous two Christmases. Big hugs.
Ooh you weren't there just now Chive. Yes thank you, feeling much better this afternoon after a lazy day. Sorry to hear you're feeling fed up LB. Rosie missed you too, hehe, cheeky Alfie đŸđŸ
SGL, Chey's Grandma was definitely back in England - I asked him although they did live in Germany at one time. Thats why her funeral was in Markeaton. Chive, I went to the Post Office this morning - the highlight of my day Yvie, tell your daughter to stay strong. She has made a very fair alternative suggestion and it should be agreed to.

Yvie, I echo what LB has said and I hope things go smoothly for your daughter and he agrees. Â LB sorry to hear youâre down. Â Youâre most valued on res. Â Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Â Times can be challenging without having regular face to face contact. Â Lily itâs good youâve caught up with your sleep now. Â Chive Alfie hissed at me when I eventually closed the drawer and spoiling his fun.
Thank you all. I am cheered up already reading all your posts. Never stay fed up for long. The story of Alfie in the drawer was hilarious. Hazel, you have had another busy day. Funny you mentioning your blackbirds as mine have been creating havoc in the garden. I think that the residents are chasing off all of this year's juveniles to find their own territories. There has been a lot of 'pinking' and dive bombing going on.
