We're getting reverse trick or treated at the moment. People are popping packages of sweets through the door with 'Happy Halloween from No3' and things written on them. It's not something to really be curmudgeonly about but this thread was getting buried down on page 5 :o

Have you eaten all the sweeties yet @wild edges?  :D
I sometimes wonder what goes through the minds of some people. Someone is letting off fireworks near here.
I'm not sure lashing rain and almost 60mph winds are the right conditions for that..... :|

My curmudge is that this thread - and no other - doesn't take me to the "last read" post, so I have to remember which page we're on...   :|

I gave some sweeties a quick check to make sure they weren't poisoned. o:)  The kids are still a bit young for that kind of stuff though. I don't know if I should food bank them.
Fireworks going off here too. I wonder if they're being sold as essential goods along with the Halloween tat?

I haven't heard a one . Admittedly, I haven't got my hearing aids in, but I would've expected to hear them by now.
Glad the American 'candy' extortion racket will be avoided this year.

Candy extortion. Admittedly a good many years ago now (I was mid-teens) I took our dog and a gaggle of smaller kids trick or treating. The dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, was dressed in a cloak, homemade hat with feather and a paper opener 'sword'. We came home with bacon sandwiches, a good selection of sausages, some cheese and a large chunk of ham (someone's Sunday roast). And dog biscuits.

So much better than prepackaged sugar. Try giving the kids an apple nowadays!

If I don't wait a few seconds, I end up clicking on the one above the one  wanted. Irritating.

Speaking of irritating: what's all this 'super' business? What's wrong with 'very'?
It's double plus ungood, if you ask me😒
