Any seed has the potential to grow. Decent quality stuff has less of it. Sunflower hearts are always better than the whole seed as they're treated. It's also less waste and more economical. This subject has been covered hundreds of times. It's really very simple

Hello everyone, Thank you for your suggestions....I got some 'liked' bird food now and will (still) be thinking about the 'old food/seed' a bit longer..
