A very good morning to one and all. I hope that you all have a wonderful Saturday - whatever your plans are. Ruby, I hope your back is not too achey this morning.
Chive, I hope you are 'cooking on gas' now.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Big son who lost both jobs because of lockdown has found work at a local small factory. Mostly loading bricks and sand so hard physical work but itâs full time though only minimum wage so he should be able to earn a few pennies to keep the wolf from the door. I am so proud of the way he just deals with all the changes calmly and makes time for himself and his art, he loves carving and makes signs for people and wooden books and toys for friends and family. He is very intelligent but he doesnât think himself too good to work in a factory, reminds me of my Dad, a very intelligent man from a very poor background, the real slums of Birmingham, he worked as a diesel fitter all his life to provide for his family and never got the education he should have but he didnât complain and was always reading and listening to radio 4, he loved opera and classical music but he was working class to his bones.Â
I think the way so many young people are coping with this pandemic is an example to us all.Â
Good morning Debs. Good to see you and how happy you must be with your new kitchen nearing completion! Respect to your son for his just getting stuck in and not giving in. How difficult it is for all workers and those needing their wages/salaries in order to pay basic bills. I love the sound of his handicraft skills and I hope he can get some commision work to help with the money situation.

Debs, you should be proud on your son. Proper example in this hard times. I wish him luck to find better job in future. Story about your father remind me on my grandfather. They had similar life.Â
Sunny morning finally. Unusually cold but I'll not complain. At least rain stopped. Resting day for me. Maybe I'll put some bulbs in the soil, but not sure.Â
