Did an hour an a half outside in the end - half an hour hand weeding and cutting back (the worst jobs for setting off my arm) and then an hour cutting the lawn. The grass was very wet so it was a bit of a tedious chore but it looks better for doing.

MIL is doing very well thank you Lily and Hazel. She misses FIL of course but is determined to take the view that she was very lucky to have 65 years with him and that they were able to enjoy holidays and family time together until the end. As she says - some people don't even get 6 years.

Need to start thinking about dinner now. It'll be whatever I can cobble together from fridge leftovers & the freezer as I haven't been to the SM since last Monday. Have to put my Masterchef "Mystery Box" hat on. A 3 week old stick of celery, 2 carrots, and 3 potatoes isn't really speaking to me....

Ooops manners - thanks for the suggestion re the support for my arm Hazel. I might have to look at getting something because it really is very sore at the moment.

Afties all. Been to 'sco and had a good mooch. Got everything I needed. It hammered down the whole time I was out and it is still.
Woo hoo Chive, the lost item is found. That is the sort of thing that would keep me awake, just like T'Bird and Hazel too, wondering where it was. I would have to get up to find it. SGL be careful with the new sucky thing. Col TT is on red alert!
T'Bird, you are very lucky to get into the garden but do take care not to aggravate the RSI, especially with your trip in mind. Your MIL will be pleased to see you both and she may have a neat little list of things she needs doing. Hazel, what is PR? I'm thinking it cannot be the medical definition I associate with those letters.
Biglad, you cannot be too far away from me and we probably shared the same rain cloud this morning.
I have to 'fess up, I did all my C*******s shopping in January.

It’s sunshine after the rain and very bright indeed.  Had a shower whilst it was raining and all dry now.  Topbird I hope you get something supportive and that mil is doing okay as can be.  I’m just about to make a cuppa.

Was nice and bright for a bit but it's gone end-of-the-world dark now. More rain is just what the back swamp needs :o

No need for apologies SGL. I'm glad you are pleased with your new toy. I share your dismay Biglad, the webbed feet are starting to develop here.
Actually, joking aside, I spotted a moorhen perched on the edge of my garage roof. The first time ever one has ventured so close. Of course the minute I reached for my mobile it flew away.

Evening all,  Didn't get any gardening done today.  Went over to Secondborn's to look after Jonah so that she could get some sleep and a shower.  First shut eye she's had for 48 hours.  Hubby looked after Jonah while I went out and did a supermarket shop for her.  Gabriel will be in for at least another night but Dad has taken over, will have to see what tomorrow brings.  I may go over for a few hours in the afternoon if she needs me.
Green bin day tomorrow which is a relief, as it's jam packed and I have another three trugs waiting to go in.  Enjoy your evening everyone.

Evening Yvie. Its good to hear that Gabriel might only be in another night. Fingers crossed.
I'm getting ready for quiz evening so I'm saying night night to everyone and I'll see you tomorrow.
