Had a look at the post office link. Good idea if your sending a personal parcel, although we still have a village post office and would hate to lose that.Ā But so many have gone now and this would help out there. Also not having to stand in queues etc.Ā Most of our parcels come from the big river or well known shops. So either they go back directly to the shop or they arrange their own pick up. Only ever had to return one parcel back to big river.....that was easy as they gave us a free returns code and it was printed off at the post office.Ā
7 years of paperwork! Good grief. I put all my shredded paper work onto my compost heap. I know that the ink is supposed to be problematic but so far, after composting well, the plants are doing pretty well.
I have been able to pay online and print off labels for things I can fit into the postbox at the end of the lane but to send parcels, that will be a real help for me.
Hazel, tell your OH not to sort too much as he may have to do it all over again after the shower has been fitted on Friday. It will be good when all your jobs are completed.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hi folks, apologies for being absent but have had a very busy couple of days with the boys.Ā Secondborn has been working long hours as they have Covid problems at school.Ā Year 8 and 10 pupils have had to be sent home and they have a couple of teachers who are down with it.Ā They could really do with a two week break to get it under control.Ā The boys have been good but are so full of energy that they wear me out.Ā Today is going to be a duvet day.Ā I don't plan on doing anything except watching TV and eating chocolate.Ā Hopefully I'll have more energy tomorrow and the weather might pick up so I can do a bit more in the garden.Ā
Some lovely pictures posted on here and the scarves look lovely.Ā Been trying to finish a jumper for Gabriel but arthritis in my thumb is causing a problem at the moment so can only do a bit at a time.Ā He'll be too big for it before it's finished at this rate.
Apologies if the colours appear a bit dull but you should still be able to make them out. Also for some odd reason Numbers 17-20 haven't shown up either!

Hello everyone - sorry I've also been absent like Yvie - life has been getting in the way again. Not quite sure how but it seems to take up most of the day.
Currently taking a break from sorting through the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet where we keep receipts, guarantees and manuals š„±. Guess stuff bought in 2000 is no longer under warranty? š and do I really a manual for an ironš¤??? Let alone one that went to the tip many moons agoš.
Note to self - be more organised in future!!!
You've all been busy with your knitting. Never really got on with knitting but I'm feeling the urge to make a nice scarf now. There's a very good wool / haberdashery shop in town and they have some gorgeous yarn in there. Always makes me feel quite inspired.
Football teams are beyond me except I know that No 11 is Man Utd, 17 is the Canaries (Norwich City) and guessing 18 is The Gunners (Arsenal).
Back to work - I have a bin full of manuals to go in the recycling and a pile of receipts to shred...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
