Cheese and tomato sandwich for red one😉,
Peel banana and if it's not black inside, bung it in the freezer . When it's frozen you can mash it up and use it instead of ice cream or just eat it like a lolly.

I have used up my unripe tomatoes on the Nigel Slater recipe

The one with the chicken. Very nice  :)

Thanks AnniD, doing half size Nigel green tom chutney right now but had no raisins so used sultanas and its maybe coming out a bit sweet but stlll got half an hour to go.  I might add a bit of tamarind to tart it up again if so.  Experimenting is great isn't it?

Did you use the banana? If not it would make a good banana bread. 😁

I don’t react that quickly - this is only two days later. The very thought makes me tired  :o .

I had a tomato sandwich with my home made bread, and the banana is still ripening the other tomatoes.

    Will reach a decision today.

Currently testing whether home made brioche toast works with kippers for elevenses. Given that kipper is designed for butter, it should.

(Update. Seems to work. The second jugged kipper is going into the BBC recipe for Couscous Kedgeree. but my current batch of kippers are not quite so good as usual at the skeletons coming out in one piece, so toothpicks may be involved.)

I know what you mean @Ferdinand2000 I've had six weeks of "making" and am quite over it.🙄 I love the growing, but using September glut of things looses its appeal after time.😞 Luckily the freezers are full, run out of jars, and the greenhouse is empty. Thank goodness. 🥵

    Isn't brioche sweet?

I always put bananas that are starting to turn into the freezer for later baking when I feel like it. I leave them in the peel, then when I'm ready I thaw them, cut one end off with kitchen scissors, and squeeze them out into the bowl. It's gross to look at but it works well.
