Berberis, mahonia or something else?

Self seeded. Will transplant  if it turns out  to be a goody

    It does look vaguely familiar, but nothing's happening in the upstairs area of my head....

    No. It's not holly @Tack. I have plenty of holly seedlings to compare😕
    Try bending over. A rush of blood upstairs might help @Fairygirl

    I wonder if it's one of the jaggy Osmanthus? There's a few varieties that are a bit holly like. I only have burkwoodii, which isn't.

    It could be Mahonia of some kind, but something doesn't look quite right for that. I never get seedlings - the birds scoff all the berries too quickly.

    I was only just in and showered, that's my defence.... ;)

    The downy stem looks sort of familiar. 
    Just googled osmanthus. I hope it's one of them.

    I wondered that too @Joyce Goldenlily -they're quite similar to Osmanthus. Not something I've ever grown. I'd need to look them up.

    Olearia I think.... ;)

  • It may not be coming true to form if it is a wild seedling.
