Random seedling id please!

I started some foxglove seeds back in June - 4 are now looking good but I’ve one that is entirely different and definitely not a foxglove! I’m thinking tomato? I didn’t plant any this year so not sure how it’s got there! Is it even worth growing at this late stage in the year? I did some verbena next to them but it doesn’t look like those either 🤔

    I'd suggest Teasel, especially if those hairy looking spikes on the leaves are atall 'aggressive' when you handle them?? Watch out - 2nd year growth on my examples can reach 8ft before flowering with a 'thistle-like' head (seeds are loved by goldfinch though!). Enjoy!!

    No, I don't think  Teasel either. I am thinking Verbena -ish.

    definitely not teasel and i don't think it's verbena but it does have an ish about it but certainly not VB

    I started a load of verbena seeds next to the foxgloves but only one germinated! It doesn’t look like this so one or the other is an imposter or could be a variant?

    Do the leaves smell of lemon? I was just weeding and came across some lemon balm seedlings that looked quite like your seedling. It has slightly hairy leaves too.

    Ah, thanks for thinking of my dilemma! No, no lemon smell. I took another photo because it’s grown a bit and Picture This now thinks it marijuana!
