Looked pretty ratty even then. I'd put it in a bright but shaded spot and allow it to make a recovery. The compost looks pretty wet in the first photo, so I'd question whether it's the right type of compost for the plant. They love water but they also like sharp drainage, staying wet all the time is not good for their root system.
I would gently lift/tip it out of the pot and check for any critters and also check to see if the soil is getting water all the way down to the lowest roots. If you have any dry patches in the soil then it's probably in need of replenishment.
Might be worth replacing the bottom and top few inches of compost then giving it a really good soak and a feed.
Mine is three years old and is in full sun for six hours per day in the summer. I water it every other day and feed it weekly from spring to end of summer.
Really does look like sunburn of sorts. Presumeably it was OK when first placed in it's present position. Judging by it's size, it's safe to say soil and watering conditions suited it. Which just leaves the matter of over heating. This normally might not cause such drastic results, but consider the siting of the planter. It's like an open fronted oven.
